We are seeking a Senior Environmental Health and Safety Manager to be located in Renton, WA. This is an exciting opportunity for a high performing, proactive leader to join the Boeing Workplace Safety organization committed to reaching the highest level of Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Excellence.

You will serve as the Senior Manager for the enterprise-level Industrial Hygiene, Toxicology, High Hazard Deployment/SMEs, Audits and Assessment teams.  In this role, the Senior Manager will be partnering with the leaders at all Boeing Global facilities to effectively deploy the enterprise Workplace Safety Program strategy and tactics.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a technical leader in the realm of workplace safety, in support of leadership and employees at all levels, at Boeing’s global facilities
  • Develops and deploys enterprise tactics and compliance to support Industrial Hygiene, toxicology, physical safety, and high hazard programs
  • Ensures compliance to regulations and Boeing policy by leading the audit and assessment team
  • Manages and provides oversight of major incidents and IRB processes
  • External engagement with rule making and direct support of Boeing Legal activities
  • Builds and maintains positive working relationships with senior Boeing leaders and business partners
  • Acquires and develops talent
  • External engagement with rule making and direct support of Boeing Legal activities
  • Manages and integrates employee and first-level manager activities across more than one environmental, occupational, health and safety discipline
  • Activities managed include the planning and implementation of occupational, health and safety programs, processes and controls

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a safety related field (Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Toxicology, Bio-Engineering, Public Health, etc.)
  • More than 5 years of experience in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS)
  • Experience in leadership either formally or informally leading teams in a cross-functional environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • More than 5 years of experience leading teams/projects
  • More than 5 years of experience implementing or managing an occupational health and safety management system
  • More than 5 years of experience performing Occupational Safety and/or Industrial Hygiene duties in an industrial environment
  • Experience developing employees and building organizational talent
