About Speaker:

Royal Willard, CSP, MPH has 14 years of experience as an environmental health and safety professional.  Royal is a Senior Safety Manager for JE Dunn Construction and works out of the Portland, Oregon office overseeing Advanced Industries (semiconductor construction).  He graduated from Oregon State University in 2007 with a Masters’ of Public Health in Environment, Safety, and Health. While working toward his masters, he interned with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) out of Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis, Oregon, and Salem Hospital, gaining knowledge in EHS and emergency management. Fresh out of graduate school, Royal worked at Oregon OSHA conducting safety hazard assessments of Oregon OSHA employees as they performed employer site visits.

In 2007, Royal joined Kiewit Infrastructure Company, Underground District as a Safety Supervisor. During this time with Kiewit, Royal worked on the Eastside Combined Sewer Overflow project in Portland, the Harlem River Tunnel project in NYC, and the Devil’s Slide Highway Tunnel in the San Francisco bay area. In 2011, Royal joined BSI EHS Services and Solutions and is currently a Senior Consultant. At BSI, Royal has performed a variety of services including owner and general contractor safety program management, industrial hygiene services, asbestos and lead services, and facilities/tool design, commissioning, and start-up.

Royal is the Vice President for ASSP Region I.  He is the past President of the ASSP Columbia Willamette Chapter.
