Transformational Leadership Academy

  •  October 10, 2020
     8:00 am - 5:00 pm

The UW Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Continuing Education Pogram’s new Transformational Leadership Academy kick off on October 8, 2020.

The new 6-month Leadership Academy was designed by and for safety professionals, in partnership with the University of Washington Foster School of Business Center for Leadership and Strategic Thinking (CLST). The Leadership Academy will draw on CLST curriculum based on over 20 years of research, and will offer participants valuable access to highly regarded faculty instructors from CLST at an affordable price.

Today’s environmental health and safety leaders are looking for new ways to go beyond technical ability, to motivate and inspire others in their organizations to act as “change agents” to reduce worker illnesses and injuries. The University of Washington DEOHS Continuing Education Programs and CLST are excited to be responding to the needs and demands of our safety community especially during these uncertain times.

With support and guidance from leadership professionals from the University of Washington Foster School of Business, participants will:
• Design and execute a Leadership Development Action Plan personalized to their strengths, opportunities, and leadership goals.
• Actively engage with curriculum and practice positive behaviors by completing an Action Learning Project in their workplace.
• Transform their leadership skills, and receive support and feedback, during 11 small group virtual coaching sessions with instructors from the Foster School of Business
• Gain the confidence and skills to implement leadership concepts, models, frameworks, and tools necessary to address health and safety concerns, create positive change, and foster a strong safety culture in your workplace.
