Purpose:
The ASSP Puget Sound Chapter Scholarship Program is for students who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in an EHS related field in a Washington State based school and/or a member of the ASSP Puget Sound Chapter and its sections, who wish to pursue a career in the EHS field with a desire to advance their learning potential. Note: an EHS program can include Human factors, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or other safety related curriculums
Criteria:
Students must be a current ASSP Student Member (Membership is free) in good standing, be currently enrolled in an EHS program in the State of Washington, be in good standing with the college they are attending and carry a minimum GPA of 2.5. Scholarship awards will be based on grammar/punctuation/spelling, academic performance, community service, leadership activities and the overall presentation and argument in the application.
Guidelines:
Scholarships will be awarded annually. Selection will be determined by a voluntary committee (minimum 3, maximum 5). Made up of members of the ASSP Puget Sound Chapter Executive Committee.
Amount:
Each scholarship award will carry a monetary value of $2500 distributed directly to each student awardee.
Deadlines:
March 31st for application submittal
Awardees selected by April 30th.
Awards will be presented at the PNW Safety Symposium on May 22d 2025
Winners of the scholarship will receive free entry to the PNW Safety
