The ASSP Chapter SPY Award acknowledges the dedication and outstanding contributions of a member to a specific chapter. Please see the Chapter Spy Nomination Package to review and fill out your nomination for the 2026 ASSP Puget Sound SPY award. Nominations now being accepted until December 1, 2026.
To be eligible, a nominee must:
- Be an active dues-paying member in good standing of their chapter and the Society.
- Not have received this award within the past five years.
- Have contributed to ASSP and demonstrated outstanding achievement in the environmental health and safety (EHS) field.
- Be nominated by a current ASSP member in good standing (self-nominations are accepted).
Nominees are not eligible if they are currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors or the Chapter Awards Committee or have been recognized as an ASSP Fellow.
PETITION EVALUATION CRITERIA
The nominee’s most recent three years of activities in the following areas will be considered.
- Demonstrated technical expertise in the broad field of safety and a thorough knowledge of the operational aspects of their safety employment.
- Demonstrated outstanding contributions to the chapter or section activities, including committee or task force chair, officer, services to members, seminar presenter, etc.
- Leadership in establishing, maintaining and improving technical, chapter or section programs.
- Other personal achievements related to safety and health.
- Awards and innovations, including citations, honors, plaques, or new procedures or systems developed.
- Endorsements and verification by associates, in the form of letters on appropriate letterhead an ASSP member in good standing or section (where applicable) and a professional associate (colleague, supervisor, client, team member, etc.).
